Silver Palace detective RPG opens Dichotomy beta and drops new gameplay trailer

Elementa Games has released a new gameplay trailer for Silver Palace — its anime-inspired Victorian detective RPG — alongside the launch of the game's second closed beta, dubbed Dichotomy. The beta runs on Windows PC until July 16, and players can sign up for access on the official Silver Palace site. No in-game purchases are available during the beta, and all progress gets wiped when it ends.

The new trailer leans hard into story and systems. The female protagonist plays card games and chess, interrogates suspects, and rides fantastical flying creatures through the air. A massive flying whale doubling as a blimp is one of the visual highlights, and the dynamic between the protagonist and a mysterious narrator called Red Rose draws clear comparisons to the Honkai: Star Rail animated short featuring Acheron and Black Swan. The stealth-based detective snooping mechanic looks like the most distinctive element — potentially the hook that sets Silver Palace apart in a genre packed with open-world gacha RPGs. Elementa first revealed the game last year with a 10-minute showcase, and the first closed beta, Monotype, ran back in January.

Silver Palace is positioning itself as a direct competitor to Hoyoverse titles like Genshin Impact and Honkai: Star Rail, borrowing their anime aesthetic and live-service structure while pushing a detective-thriller angle set in the Victorian fantasy world of Silvernia. The gacha RPG space is crowded, but the investigative gameplay loop — if it holds up — could give Elementa a genuine identity rather than just another Genshin clone.

Elementa has a busy convention schedule lined up: Anime Expo in Los Angeles runs July 2–5, Japan Expo in Paris July 9–12, Bilibili World in Shanghai July 10–12, Firefly ACG EXPO in Guangzhou July 17–20, Anime NYC in New York August 20–23, gamescom in Cologne August 26–30, and gamescom Asia in Bangkok October 29 through November 1. No release date has been announced yet, but the Dichotomy beta suggests the game is moving steadily toward launch.
