Taylor Swift has ended weeks of teasing and speculation: she's written an original song for Toy Story 5, titled I Knew It, I Knew You, and it drops June 5.
The track was produced with longtime collaborator Jack Antonoff and is officially described as inspired by Jessie's story, blending country influences with the styles that have defined Swift's career. Three CD versions are available to buy for the next 48 hours — a standard single, an acoustic version, and a piano version — each priced at $3.99 with unique cover art and side B photos. Swift confirmed the news on social media, saying she's dreamed of writing for these characters since she was five years old watching the original Toy Story, and that she wrote the song immediately after seeing an early cut of the film.
Toy Story 5 director and screenwriter Andrew Stanton called the collaboration "kismet," saying Swift's connection to Jessie was immediate and undeniable. "On first listen, it instantly felt like it had always belonged there, like a long-lost family member," he said in a statement.
Toy Story 5 hits theaters June 19, 2026. Swifties who spent weeks dissecting "TS" teasers and mysterious countdowns on Swift's website now have their answer — and a release date to circle on the calendar.
