Frozenbyte has officially dated Trine 6: Together in Time — the sixth entry in the beloved co-op platformer series arrives September 17 on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Switch 1 and 2, and PC via Steam and Epic.
The story follows two young siblings, Moira and Adrius, whose fates get tangled up with series veterans Amadeus the Wizard, Zoya the Thief, and Pontius the Knight after a heist goes sideways. That gives players a roster of five characters to choose from across one-to-four-player co-op. Amadeus summons objects and manipulates the environment with magic; Zoya fires arrows and swings on a rope; Pontius swings a hammer and uses his shield for both defense and launching himself around. New addition Moira — dubbed the Acrobat — chains kick combos and swings through levels with a ribbon, while Adrius the Squire pokes things with a spear and uses it to create platforms. A new Time-Slow ability gives everyone a bit of breathing room for precision jumps and dodging in combat. Enemies come with distinct abilities — some can shield or buff allies — and boss encounters blend combat, traversal, and environmental challenges.
Frozenbyte is pushing a co-op-first design philosophy for the puzzles: no solution requires a specific character's unique skills, meaning any hero can crack any puzzle. Solo players get separately redesigned puzzles built around lone adventuring. Co-op runs both locally and online, with full crossplay across platforms.
Trine has always been the series you point at when someone asks what a gorgeous co-op platformer looks like, and Together in Time is keeping that tradition alive with new faces and new mechanics. A trailer is already up on YouTube.
