Turtle Beach Stealth Pro II Review: One of the Best Gaming Headsets of the Year, But It'll Cost You

Turtle Beach's new flagship wireless headset, the Stealth Pro II, lands as one of the best gaming headsets of the year — and one of the most expensive. It's aimed squarely at the growing category of premium headsets that work just as well on a commute as they do at a gaming desk.

The Stealth Pro II is a clear step up from the original Stealth Pro, which launched two years ago as a slightly cheaper alternative to headsets like the SteelSeries Arctis Nova Pro Wireless. The original was functional but looked utilitarian for its price. The sequel fixes that entirely. Available in black or white, it blends matte plastic, color-matched hybrid fabric cushions, and brushed aluminum faceplates into a premium material mix that doesn't scream "gaming headset" — remove the mic and the only giveaway is the Turtle Beach logo. The headband now uses an elastic weave similar to the AirPods Max, and the larger, more ovular earcups seal better and feel more breathable than the previous model.

The headline feature is the returning hot-swappable battery system with a base station charging dock. Two batteries ship in the box: one powers the headset while the other charges in the dock, ready to swap in at any moment. The batteries themselves have been massively upgraded — each now delivers around 40 hours of real-world use, more than tripling the original's uptime. There's a brief audio dropout during the swap, but the changeover is fast. Audio hardware has been upgraded too: the Stealth Pro II uses Turtle Beach's Eclipse Dual Drivers at 60mm, up from the original's 50mm, and each driver now houses a dedicated subwoofer. Active noise cancellation has also been tuned up alongside the rest of the audio processing stack.

The Stealth Pro II positions itself as a serious contender at the top end of the gaming headset market, but the price reflects that ambition. If the feature set — especially the infinite battery system — matches what you're looking for, it's worth saving up for.
