Xbox Game Pass additions July 20–24: Planet Crafter, Shift At Midnight, and more

Microsoft's weekly Xbox Wire roundup lists five games hitting Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC, and Game Pass between July 20 and 24, 2026. The lineup mixes terraforming survival, a horror gas-station sim, a retro FPS, an Avatar fighting game, and a post-apocalyptic airship builder.

The Planet Crafter lands on Game Pass on July 21 — it's a solo or up to 8-player online co-op survival game where you terraform a hostile planet from scratch, building bases and engineering an oxygen atmosphere. Shift At Midnight follows on July 22, also on Game Pass: you run a gas station, keep shelves stocked, and interrogate customers because some are doppelgangers that will come back to kill you if you miss them. Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game arrives July 23 with hand-drawn 2D animation, 12 playable characters, and modes including Story, Arcade, Online Versus, and an Art Gallery — priced at $29.99 for the standard bundle and $49.99 for the Digital Deluxe Edition, both Xbox Play Anywhere titles optimized for Series X|S. Also on July 23, CULTIC — a retro-style FPS from 3D Realms and Atari — launches at $17.99 (pre-order discount from $19.99), bundling the original campaign, the Interlude, the Chapter Two expansion, all Survival maps, and the Cultmas bonus map. Rounding out the week on July 24, Forever Skies Deluxe Edition from Far From Home lands at $39.99 — a first-person post-apocalyptic survival game where you build and fly a high-tech airship above a ruined Earth; pre-ordering gets you 72 hours of early access.

The Planet Crafter originally launched in Steam Early Access back in 2022 and built a dedicated following around its relaxed terraforming loop before hitting its full 1.0 release. CULTIC similarly made a name for itself on PC as a love letter to late-90s shooters like Blood and Quake, so its Xbox arrival brings a well-regarded indie FPS to console players for the first time. Forever Skies has been in Steam Early Access since 2023, and the Deluxe Edition console launch marks its biggest platform expansion yet. Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game is one of the higher-profile licensed titles of the summer, tapping into renewed interest in the Avatar franchise.
