Xbox owners get free PC copies of 13 Ubisoft games via Ubisoft Connect

Microsoft has expanded its partnership with Ubisoft, and Xbox players who own select Ubisoft titles on console can now claim free PC versions through the Ubisoft Connect app — no extra purchase required.

Thirteen games are in the deal right now: Assassin's Creed Mirage, Assassin's Creed Valhalla, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, Far Cry 6, Immortals Fenyx Rising, Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, Riders Republic, Skull and Bones, The Crew 2, The Crew Motorfest, Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Extraction, Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege, and Watch Dogs Legion. To claim them, you link your Xbox account to Ubisoft Connect and the PC copies unlock automatically. If you don't own any of these yet, buying them on Xbox and linking your profile still gets you the PC version for free. On top of that, premium editions of newer Ubisoft releases — including Assassin's Creed Shadows and Star Wars Outlaws — are available through the Xbox PC app alongside back-catalog entries from the Assassin's Creed, Far Cry, The Crew, and Watch Dogs franchises.

This move fits a broader pattern of Xbox pushing harder into PC gaming. Rumors around Microsoft's next-gen console, codenamed Project Helix, suggest it will blur the line between console and PC more than any Xbox hardware before it, and a discs-to-digital conversion program is reportedly in development to help users shift toward an all-digital library. Last week also brought news that a curated set of original Xbox games — Blinx: The Time Sweeper, Fuzion Frenzy, Conker: Live and Reloaded, and Crimson Skies: High Road to Revenge — are coming to PC with enhancements including improved resolution, customizable graphics settings, and various accessibility options. Xbox confirmed that backwards-compatibility initiative on PC is just getting started, with more titles to follow.

For players who game on both Xbox and PC, this is a straightforward win — a library they already paid for now works on a second platform at no extra cost. The bigger picture is Xbox steadily dismantling the wall between its console and PC ecosystems, and this Ubisoft deal is one of the more concrete steps in that direction so far.
