Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game reveals Spirit Wilds stage, opens PS5 pre-orders

Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game just revealed its Spirit Wilds stage and opened pre-orders on the PlayStation Store for PS5. The stage is one of the more visually distinctive arenas in the lineup, drawing from the mysterious Spirit Wilds corner of the Avatar universe and designed around elemental combat — airbending launches opponents skyward, earthbending controls space.

At launch the game ships with 12 playable characters, a roster of support characters, eight unique stages, and several modes including online play, Training Mode, and an original story mode. Pre-ordering either the Standard or Deluxe Edition gets you gold color variants for Aang, Korra, Zuko, Katara, Toph, and Sokka, a Samurai Appa Support Character Skin, voting rights on one character joining the Year 1 Pass roster, and access to the Closed Beta running July 2–5. The Samurai Appa skin reskins Aang's flying bison companion when used as a support character. The character vote is the most unusual perk — pre-order buyers directly influence which fighter gets added post-launch.

The Closed Beta features seven characters: Aang, Korra, Katara, Toph, Zuko, Sokka, and Azula. It runs for four days and gives players a hands-on look at the game's fast-paced combat and support character system before the full release. Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game is being developed for the Avatar franchise, which spans the original Avatar: The Last Airbender animated series and its sequel The Legend of Korra — both of which contribute characters to the launch roster.

Pre-orders are live on the PlayStation Store now. The developer says more updates and surprises are coming as the launch date approaches, though no specific release date was announced alongside today's reveal.
