Buckshot Roulette hits Xbox Game Pass today with multiplayer included

Buckshot Roulette — the indie horror hit built around a 12-gauge twist on Russian Roulette — is out now on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Xbox on PC, and cloud, and it's included in Game Pass from day one. Xbox Play Anywhere means one purchase covers both console and PC at no extra cost.

The game pits players against The Dealer in a tense back-and-forth of probability, bluffing, and luck. The chamber holds a mix of live and blank shells, and each turn you decide whether to aim at your opponent or take the shot yourself — with items drawn each round adding layers of strategy to the chaos. A Double or Nothing score attack mode is built into the single-player side for players who want to push their luck even further. Multiplayer — supporting up to four players online with crossplay across Xbox platforms — ships with this version as a fully integrated feature. Developers Mike Klubnika and Pavel Korovkin note that adding four-player support meant redesigning the player characters, the table layout, and even the entire soundtrack.

Buckshot Roulette started life as a small experimental project on Itch.io before word of mouth turned it into one of the most-discussed indie games of recent years. The concept — swapping a revolver for a pump-action shotgun and layering in item-based strategy — struck a nerve with players looking for something short, brutal, and replayable. Publisher Critical Reflex backed the wider release, and the game has since accumulated millions of players across platforms.

The Xbox launch brings the full package — single-player, multiplayer, and crossplay — to a new audience on day one through Game Pass, which lowers the barrier to entry considerably.
