Capcom is building life-sized Lady Dimitrescu and Wesker statues for Resident Evil's 30th anniversary

Capcom has revealed two life-sized villain statues coming to its Resident Evil 30th anniversary exhibition in Tokyo — Lady Dimitrescu from Village and series mainstay Albert Wesker. The show runs at the Shibuya BEAM Gallery from October 30 to December 24, 2026.

Concept art shared on the exhibition's official website shows Lady D seated in an ornate chair and Wesker standing in his trademark sunglasses and trenchcoat. Both figures sit in the Evidence of Horror section: Wesker lands in the parasites and biological threats zone, while Dimitrescu occupies the fungi and hallucinations zone. Lady D's statue reportedly clocks in at 290 centimeters — roughly nine and a half feet — though her seated pose makes the final display height uncertain. The exhibition also promises real-life recreations of iconic items and creatures from across the franchise.

Resident Evil has been running since 1996, and Lady Dimitrescu became a breakout cultural moment when Village launched in 2021 — her towering design and aristocratic menace turned her into one of gaming's most memed villains almost overnight. Wesker, the franchise's recurring arch-antagonist, has been a fan favourite since the original game. A Leon Kennedy statue was apparently announced earlier and already caused its own internet meltdown, which gives some context for how the Dimitrescu reveal landed.

Online reaction was predictably unhinged. X users immediately started joking about heists — one called for bulletproof glass, another dropped a National Treasure Nick Cage GIF, and a third warned Capcom they'd need round-the-clock security because "multiple people will try to run a heist for it." Given what happened with the Leon statue announcement, Capcom may genuinely want to budget for overnight guards.
