Erling Haaland shows off his gaming setup, wants Xbox to sponsor him, and can't wait for GTA 6

Norwegian football star Erling Haaland gave fans a look at his gaming setup in a new YouTube video, and it turns out he's a serious gamer — not just a casual one. He opened by declaring himself a big Xbox fan, complete with an Xbox minifridge stocked with MTN Dew and Coke as proof.

Haaland called out Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 from 2009 as one of the top three games ever made, and named Minecraft and Grand Theft Auto as his two "desert island" games. On GTA 6 specifically, he said "I can't wait for the new one." His setup also includes a DualSense controller on the table, so he's clearly not platform-exclusive. In a nice self-aware moment, one of the games visible in his Xbox library is FC 24 — the football sim that features Haaland himself on the cover. He also mentioned hosting LAN parties with friends in his gaming space.

Haaland is currently one of the most recognizable athletes in the world, leading Norway through the 2026 FIFA World Cup. His Xbox enthusiasm comes at an awkward time for Microsoft's gaming division, which is navigating a rough stretch of studio closures and layoffs — so that sponsorship pitch might have to wait.

On the pitch, Haaland and Norway face England in a World Cup quarterfinal on July 11, which should be one of the tournament's biggest matchups so far.
