Final Fantasy 15 on Nintendo Switch 2 isn't off the table, Square Enix says

Square Enix hasn't ruled out bringing Final Fantasy 15 — and potentially other titles — to Nintendo Switch 2. A company representative described the prospect as "not entirely impossible," which is about as cautious a non-denial as you can get, but it keeps the door open.

No specific games beyond Final Fantasy 15 were named, and Square Enix gave no timelines, platforms confirmed, or development details. The comment appears to be a response to fan interest rather than an announcement of anything in active production.

Final Fantasy 15 originally launched in 2016 on PS4 and Xbox One, with a Windows Edition following in 2018. The game never made it to the original Nintendo Switch, largely due to hardware limitations — the open-world action RPG is one of the more technically demanding entries in the series. Switch 2's significantly upgraded hardware compared to its predecessor makes ports like this more plausible than they were before, and Square Enix has been increasingly willing to bring older Final Fantasy titles to new platforms in recent years.

For now it's firmly in "maybe someday" territory, but Switch 2 owners hunting for big RPGs to fill their library will at least know Square Enix isn't dismissing the idea outright.
