Final Fantasy VII Revelation story DLC confirmed for Sephiroth and Vincent Valentine

Square Enix quietly confirmed post-launch story DLC for Final Fantasy VII Revelation through the game's Steam page, revealing a Story Expansion Pass with two separate character-focused expansions. The main game launches April 8.

The Story Expansion Pass bundles two DLCs: Story DLC 1 starring Sephiroth, and Story DLC 2 titled Vincent & the Turks. Both are planned to release between Winter 2027 and Spring 2028. The pass also includes a bonus accessory — the Reclaimant Choker, which slightly restores HP on enemy kills — plus a Survival Set of early-game items. No price has been listed yet, though Square Enix notes each DLC will also be sold individually after launch. Story details are thin: the Sephiroth chapter has no description beyond his name, while the Vincent DLC's mention of the Turks hints at a prequel angle, digging into his past as a Turk operative before the events of the original Final Fantasy VII.

Final Fantasy VII Revelation is the third entry in Square Enix's episodic remake trilogy, following Final Fantasy VII Remake and Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. Vincent Valentine has always occupied a complicated space in the FF7 expanded universe — he was an optional party member in the original game and later the lead of Dirge of Cerberus, which explored his Turks backstory in depth. A DLC revisiting that history within Revelation's continuity could reframe a lot of what Dirge established. Sephiroth, meanwhile, is the trilogy's central antagonist, and a dedicated story chapter focused on him raises obvious questions about perspective and timeline.

The reveal came not from Sony's State of Play — where Revelation was otherwise prominently featured — but from the Steam page itself, suggesting the DLC announcement was more of a quiet disclosure than a planned showcase moment.
