GTA 6 Preorders Bundle a Free GTA+ Trial That Auto-Renews If You Forget to Cancel

GTA 6 preorders are live, and they come with a free month of GTA+ — Rockstar's subscription service. The catch: it auto-renews at $8 per month if you don't cancel before the trial ends. When exactly that clock starts ticking isn't confirmed yet, though Rockstar says more details will follow closer to launch.

GTA+ gives subscribers $500,000 in GTA$ each month, access to The Vinewood Club in GTA Online where a free vehicle is claimable monthly, and rotating bonuses like GTA$ and RP multipliers for specific modes. It also includes a back-catalog of Rockstar titles — GTA 5, Red Dead Redemption, GTA: Vice City, Bully, and LA Noire are currently in the lineup. Cancellation can be handled through whatever platform you subscribed on: console storefronts, the Rockstar Games Launcher, Steam, Epic Games Store, or the Xbox app on PC.

GTA 6 launches November 19 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S — no PC version at launch, and controversially, no disc edition either. Rockstar's preorder announcement focused entirely on the single-player experience and made zero mention of multiplayer, leaving the future of GTA Online genuinely unclear. Given GTA Online's massive playerbase and the fact that GTA+ is bundled with preorders, some form of online integration seems inevitable — but nothing is confirmed. GameSpot's Mark Delaney outlined three plausible scenarios: a standalone GTA 6 Online running alongside the existing GTA Online, a massive GTA 6-themed update to the current GTA Online, or a full replacement that retires the old version entirely.

Each of those outcomes has a vocal group of players who won't be happy about it, which makes the silence from Rockstar on the multiplayer front all the more frustrating for the community. For now, the immediate practical concern is simpler: if you're preordering and have no interest in keeping GTA+, set a reminder to cancel before that first free month runs out.
