PlayStation Plus Is Losing Silent Hill 2 and Yakuza: Like a Dragon Soon

Seven games are leaving the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog in the coming weeks, and the two biggest names on the chopping block are Silent Hill 2 and Yakuza: Like a Dragon. No exact removal date has been confirmed yet, but Extra- and Premium-tier subscribers should clear some time before they disappear.

The full list of departing titles is Silent Hill 2, Yakuza: Like a Dragon, Gloomhaven: Mercenaries Edition, Jurassic World Evolution 2, Rogue Lords, Lake, and Death Squared. Silent Hill 2 — Bloober Team's 2024 remake of the Konami classic — is the headline loss. The remake didn't just polish up the visuals; it added smarter enemy AI, new locations, and expanded puzzles that made the already-legendary psychological horror feel genuinely fresh. It's leaving right before Halloween season, which is unfortunate timing for anyone who hasn't played it yet. Yakuza: Like a Dragon is also worth a final push — it swapped the series' signature brawling for turn-based RPG combat and introduced Ichiban Kasuga as protagonist, landing in late 2020 to strong reviews.

Silent Hill 2 was part of a broader revival for the franchise, and the next entry — Silent Hill Townfall — launches September 24, sending players into a haunted Scottish town armed with a handheld TV to survive the local horrors. Bloober Team is also working on a remake of the original Silent Hill. On the Yakuza side, the series has kept rolling since Like a Dragon with the sequel Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, plus several spin-offs and remakes keeping fans busy.

While games leave, the catalog is also getting new additions — Runescape: Dragonwilds and WWE 2K26 are in today, with Ball X Pit, Slitterhead, and Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound arriving over the next couple of weeks.
