Pokémon 30th Anniversary Carry-On Bags Have a Plushie Display Window

The Pokémon Company has added carry-on luggage bags to its 30th anniversary merchandise lineup, and the standout feature is a small window near the top designed to show off your favorite plushies while you travel.

The bags come in three colorways tied to the classic starter types — fire, water, and grass. Each outer shell features 30 years' worth of starter Pokémon, so the red bag pairs Charmander with Litten, the blue one puts Squirtle next to Popplio, and so on. Inside, the soft lining shows full-color versions of those same starters, and dividers help keep your gear sorted. The zipper pulls are shaped like Poké Balls, and a side hook lets you clip on small accessories. The Sitting Cuties plushie line from the Pokémon Center is called out as a particularly good fit for the display window.

The bags land during a broader 30th anniversary push that has already produced special TCG card sets and a Game Boy-themed music player. Pokémon merchandise exclusives in Japan are nothing new — the country consistently gets products that never make it to Western markets, and this appears to be another one of those cases.

The catch: The Pokémon Company has only confirmed availability in Japan for now, with no word on international release. Fans outside Japan are left either hunting for importers or hoping for an eventual wider rollout.
