TennoCon 2026: Warframe gets Tau expansion and Fortnite collab, Soulframe adds Clair Obscur talent

Digital Extremes wrapped TennoCon 2026 in London, Ontario this weekend, dropping major announcements for both Warframe and Soulframe. The headliner was the full reveal of Warframe: Tau — a second solar system that creative director Rebecca Ford called the biggest shift in the game's 13-year history.

Tau takes players to Fornax, a Sentient ring city soaked in constant black rain and run by a crime boss called The Hunra, voiced by Jonathan Bullock. The expansion introduces Brysko, a Sentient Chimera Warframe voiced by Matt Mercer, who fights with brass knuckles, explosive playing cards, and an Exalted revolver called the Corecracker. Tau also brings a new enemy faction — the Fornax Drowners — and a brand-new card mini-game called Portau, which riffs on poker using Sentient-themed suits. Before Tau launches later this year, players can expect the Iceblade of Narin story quest, a new playable Warframe, deluxe skins for Qorvex and Banshee, and the Amir's Shockwave update with Nightwave missions and a gameplay rework. On top of all that, a Warframe x Fortnite crossover went live today — buy an eligible item on the Epic Games Store and you unlock an Excalibur skin in Fortnite, while the On-lyne track PARTY OF YOUR LIFETIME from Warframe: 1999 is also hitting Fortnite Festival.

Soulframe had a packed showing too. The next Fable questline is called Warsongs and introduces the Vadagar Pact, mounts, and a fishing mini-game. Two Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 voice actors are joining the cast — Ben Starr plays antagonist Tempest Bayor, and Jennifer English, who voiced Maelle in Expedition 33, portrays the Empress of Eldveil. A new boss called the Mendicant Reinbreaker is already in the Preludes pre-alpha, and beating it lets you befriend the horse it rides. Digital Extremes is also opening Soulframe: Preludes to anyone who signs up on the game's website before 11:59 PM EDT on July 12.

Ford's quote about building Tau — "How do we keep Warframe going forever?" — sums up the ambition on display. The community response has been enthusiastic, particularly around Brysko and the Fortnite collab going live immediately. Tau's exact release window is still listed as later this year, with the Iceblade of Narin update arriving first as a lead-in.
