Game Informer's highest-rated games of 2026 so far

Game Informer has been updating its running list of top-scoring reviews for 2026, and the lineup already includes some heavy hitters. The list covers releases across PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Switch 2, and PC, with scores ranging from 9.0 up to 9.75.

Resident Evil Requiem leads the pack with a 9.75 — Game Informer calls it "a masterclass in refinement and a tour de force of gameplay," landing on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Switch 2, and PC on February 27. Close behind at 9.25 are Cairn, a mountain-climbing narrative game described as "deeply affecting" (PS5 and PC, January 29), Forza Horizon 6, praised as "one of the greatest racing games of this generation" (Xbox Series X/S and PC May 19, PS5 later in 2026), Bungie's extraction shooter Marathon (PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PC, March 5), and Saros, a roguelite set on planet Carcosa exclusive to PS5 (April 30). The Switch 2 re-release of Super Mario Bros. Wonder — bundled with the new Meetup in Bellabel Park mode — also earned a 9.25 on March 26. Sitting at 9.0 are sci-fi roguelite Deadzone: Rogue, the nostalgia-driven narrative game Mixtape (May 7), Nioh 3 (February 6, PS5 and PC), and the adventure game Paranormasight: The Mermaid's Curse (February 19, Switch 2, Switch, PC, iOS, Android).
