Leon's voice actor reveals the cut Resident Evil Requiem spider line Capcom rejected

Nick Apostolides, the voice of Leon S. Kennedy in Resident Evil Requiem, has shared a line he pitched and recorded for the game that Capcom ultimately cut — and it's exactly the kind of groan-worthy one-liner Leon fans live for.

The line was written for Leon's boss fight against the Titan Spinner, a giant spider enemy encountered in Raccoon City. Apostolides revealed it on a podcast alongside voice actors Ben Starr and Alanah Pearce: "You know, you've been a real itsy-bitsy pain in my ass." He called it his "favorite" line in the game and said it "would have been a banger." Pearce and Starr agreed on the spot. Capcom went a different direction — in the final game, Leon instead says "You are a real pest, you know that?" and "I don't have time for pest control" during the same fight.

Apostolides has leaned hard into Leon's 80s-action-hero persona throughout Requiem, delivering a string of corny one-liners that have become a signature of the character since Resident Evil 4. That game — and its 2023 remake — cemented Leon as the franchise's quip machine, so the cut line fits squarely in that tradition. The fact that it was recorded but pulled suggests Capcom had the option and still passed, which is the detail that's stinging fans most.

Reaction online has been predictably enthusiastic, with one commenter on X calling it "freaking incredible." With Requiem wrapped, the community is already looking ahead — a Code Veronica remake is slated for 2027, and Zach Cregger's live-action Resident Evil film adaptation hits theaters this October.
