Stern Pinball Reveals Fallout Machine With Deathclaw Sculpt, Todd Howard Input, and a $7,299 Price Tag

Stern Pinball has announced a Fallout-themed pinball machine, available to play at PAX West this weekend. It's the company's second video game adaptation in 2025, following the Pokémon table released roughly six months ago.

The machine is built around both the Amazon Prime TV series — starring Ella Purnell and Walton Goggins — and Fallout 4, with original voice clips recorded by co-star Johnny Pemberton. Physical features include a sculpted Deathclaw, a spinning Nuka-Cola cap, a moving Vault 33 door, a functioning PIP-Boy, and a Fat Man launcher targeting an upper playfield. The V.A.T.S. system from Fallout 4 also makes an appearance. Designer Keith Elwin — the mind behind the Jurassic Park, Jaws, and King Kong tables — led the project, and Bethesda's Todd Howard provided input during development. Like most Stern releases, it comes in Pro, Premium, and Limited Edition versions; the cheapest Pro model starts at $7,299.

Stern is the only pinball manufacturer to survive both the arcade crash of the early 2000s and the financial crisis that followed, rebuilding its catalog largely on classic rock and Marvel licenses like AC/DC and Iron Man. Video game-themed machines have historically been rare — before Pokémon this year, the only gaming tables in recent memory were a couple of Super Mario machines and RollerCoaster Tycoon. That's shifting fast: rival manufacturer Jersey Jack just dropped a Sonic the Hedgehog table of their own, suggesting the industry is finally chasing a younger demographic that grew up with games rather than classic rock.

The Fallout machine is on the floor at PAX West this weekend for anyone who wants to try it before committing several thousand dollars worth of Nuka caps.
