Fortnite Reload Gets John Wick as a Simpsons Character Starting July 30

Keanu Reeves never actually guest starred on The Simpsons, but Fortnite is making it happen anyway — John Wick is coming to Fortnite Reload as a Simpsonified character, joining Homer and the rest of Springfield starting July 30.

Wick is tied to the current battle pass, so you'll need to own it to unlock him. He arrives alongside a reworked version of the Springfield map, which originally debuted during a popular mini-season at the end of last year and is now making its Reload debut. The mode gives players three lives and fast respawns in 50-player matches, and this version adds a few new wrinkles. A neutral zone called The Confidential offers passive healing and proximity chat — though you can still open fire inside it, which marks you for every other player and gives whoever kills you better loot. Chests now restock over time, a first for Fortnite. Solo players can also earn extra reboots by dealing damage to opponents. On top of all that, there's an exclusive John Wick Sprite — usable outside Reload — that reveals nearby enemies after you knock or eliminate someone.

Fortnite Reload launched as a spinoff of the main battle royale, built around faster, more chaotic matches with a lower player count and the respawn mechanic. The Simpsons crossover was one of last year's bigger pop-culture moments for the game, so bringing Springfield back for Reload makes sense as a way to pull players into the mode. The John Wick Sprite is a smart hook too, especially for anyone already deep into the Sprite-collecting loop that's taken over the main game this season.

You've got roughly three weeks to unlock Wick before the window closes, so if you've been sleeping on Reload, Springfield is probably the best reason yet to drop in.
