Fortnite's Spider-Man: Brand New Day crossover brings Web Shooters, Hulk, and Punisher skins

Fortnite is getting a full Spider-Man: Brand New Day crossover, timed alongside the film's theatrical release this Friday. Epic Games has confirmed new skins, the return of Web Shooters, and a pair of dedicated Web Shooter Hours scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 1 (or Sunday, Aug. 2 depending on your time zone).

The Item Shop is adding Spider-Man's Brand New Day suit — complete with a removable mask showing Tom Holland's face — plus a Hulk skin and Jon Bernthal's Punisher. Web Shooters return as an equippable item that lets players swing across the map at speed, making them a solid flanking tool since they're hard to track mid-swing. During the two Web Shooter Hours sessions on Aug. 1–2, Web Shooters will drop guaranteed and Spider-Man Backpacks will appear more frequently. Epic hasn't locked in an exact Item Shop arrival time, but the shop typically refreshes at 8 PM ET.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day hits theaters this Friday, and the Fortnite tie-in is part of a broader Marvel push that also includes new skins for Marvel's Spider-Man 2. Web Shooters have appeared in Fortnite before during previous Spider-Man crossovers, so their return will be familiar to long-time players — but the Brand New Day suits and the Bernthal Punisher are new additions. Whether Epic will also bring back older Spider-Man skins from No Way Home or add Zendaya's MJ remains unclear for now.

The announcement dropped alongside an extended clip from Brand New Day showing Spider-Man chasing an armored tank with the Punisher in tow. IGN reviewed the film at 7/10, calling it a "refreshingly small-scale ride" that retreads some familiar Peter Parker ground but largely delivers. Community speculation is already running hot on whether Sadie Sink's character — widely theorized to be Jean Grey — gets her own skin down the line.
