Walmart Coupon Code SAVE3X Can Take $20 Off Ocarina of Time Preorders

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake for Switch 2 is already discounted at Walmart and Amazon, but a promo code at Walmart could knock an extra $10 off on top of that — bringing the total discount to $20 off the $69.99 physical MSRP.

The code is SAVE3X, and results are mixed. IGN's Senior Commerce Editor Chris Reed used it successfully, paying just $49.88 for his preorder. Senior Social Producer Seth Macy tried the same thing and got nothing. The code is reportedly a Walmart new-customer promo that only applies to the first three online purchases at the retailer — but Reed has shopped at Walmart before and it still worked for him, so the actual rules are unclear. One pattern that does seem consistent: shoppers who got it to work chose "delivery" or "pickup" at checkout rather than standard shipping. Worth trying either way, but go in with low expectations.

Even without the extra discount, the base $10 markdown at both Walmart and Amazon is already a decent deal. Nintendo has priced Switch 2 games at $59.99 digital and $69.99 physical, but both major retailers have been routinely undercutting the physical price to match or beat the digital one — a trend seen across other Switch 2 exclusives like Star Fox, Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave, and Switch Sports Resort. That lower price is typically a preorder perk and tends to go back up at launch, so locking it in early makes sense if you're buying physical anyway. There's also no game key card situation here — Ocarina of Time ships as a full cartridge.

The remake launches November 5, 2026, and preorders have already been moving fast since going live. The game will feature redone load screens, and Nintendo's visual overhaul has been generating plenty of discussion since the Legend of Zelda 40th Anniversary Direct.
