GTA 6 T-shirts and Red Bull tumblers spark scalper chaos at Tokyo Game Show 2026

TGS 2026 is the show's 30th anniversary edition, and it has drawn notably strong crowds — though organizers were forced to cancel a newly added fifth public day due to an approaching typhoon, a first for the event. The scalping of free convention merchandise is a recurring problem at major gaming expos worldwide, but the GTA 6 frenzy underscores just how much anticipation has built around Rockstar's upcoming release, which recently got a major gameplay showcase via Netflix. The chaos reflects both the scale of GTA 6 hype and a broader scalper culture that has embedded itself in gaming events. With the typhoon canceling the bonus day, attendees who missed out on day one have fewer chances to grab anything — which will likely push resale prices even higher before the show wraps.
