Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis has an AI disclaimer on its Steam page

After last night's PlayStation State of Play, where Flying Wild Hog and Crystal Dynamics showed a new trailer for Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis – a remake of the original Tomb Raider – an AI Generated Content Disclosure quietly appeared on the game's Steam page. The game is set for 12th February 2027 on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2.\n\nThe disclosure reads: \"AI-assisted tools were used during development to support some early exploration and temporary development content. Any AI-assisted assets were either replaced or refined by humans in order to maintain the creative and artistic vision of the development team.\" Eurogamer has reached out to Crystal Dynamics and Flying Wild Hog for more detail on exactly how AI was used, and is waiting on a response.\n\nThese kinds of disclosures are showing up more and more on game store pages. A recent parallel is Crimson Desert – Pearl Abyss said AI-generated assets would be replaced before launch, but some slipped through to the final release, frustrating the community. The broader debate around AI disclosure is still very much alive: Epic Games boss Tim Sweeney said last November that AI tags on game stores \"make no sense\", arguing AI will be part of nearly all future production. On the other side, Witcher 3 director Konrad Tomaszkiewicz thinks AI can have legitimate uses in development but that games built entirely with AI will lack soul.\n\nLegacy of Atlantis was originally targeting a 2026 release before being pushed to February 2027. Whether it avoids Crimson Desert's situation depends on whether the team follows through on replacing every AI-assisted asset before it ships.
